Maxima Love

That’s my big number. And we are on the way to the golden 200,000. I noticed that Maxima owners really love their car. Maybe it’s because they have been driving them for so long and for so many miles. I spend more money, and am willing to spend more money, to fix it than replace it. I have the 2004 version. (The best shape I think. Very “Maxima”.) Technically, and for full disclosure, I am not the original owner. That would be my BF. And he bought it brand spanking new. But we swapped cars a few years back, and my trade was destroyed in a terrible, totaling, highway accident (no injuries except the car) so I am claiming the Maxima as my own forever and always.

20130828_170252

That’s the whole car. It needs some cosmetic work and it makes some strange noises, but it starts and takes me to work every day. If you love your Maxima, and have some time to burn, send me a comment, or a pic if you want. I know you are out there because I see you driving around in your Maxima, with the same look I have when I drive around in mine. For the most part. When I’m not dog-ass tired or coming home from work at 2 am. But I digress.Maxima people look at other Maxima people. Probably just to compare cars, but whatever. I’m not going to go into the whole big thing. Send me a comment!! We are so aggressive too. Just do it. Please. Anyway…

Let’s try to shake this site up today. My sister, the self-titled queen of all things interesting, decided that my site is too boring for her. So I am starting with fast cars (because that’s a huge reason for loving the Maxima in the first place–speed) and continuing with exciting, upcoming, posts such as, death. And pornography. I’m not kidding. I said death. With pictures. And porn. With pictures. Check back in a few if you are not automatically getting e-mails or following me. And if not, why not? Take the time and do it now. E-mail to the top right, or follow by clicking the link for it. Easy and one less thing to keep track of. I will come to you! Now that sounds exciting all by itself doesn’t it? But right now, I have other pressing matters to attend to that cannot wait. I must go to the local public perishables and supply institution. For long term staple items and body products. Bare bottom body products. Can I even type such scandal? Then I have to visit my pharmaceutical connection. I need to pick up some “medications” there. The good sh*t, that messes with your heart. Then I have to get ready to meet the brain trusts at the education center who will be teaching my children life-saving survival tactics for an ever changing, future based, random, potentially dangerous, world, that they have to be prepared for at all times. Their regimen includes hands on training, as well as written doctrine and instruction. Do not tell me that my life is boring. It is a daily grind to stay alive. And no one, I repeat, no one, gets out alive.

So don’t worry so much. Here’s some of that education in action. A picture that just sums it all up. Left on a note pad, on the coffee table, for us mere humans to decipher as we wish. Shake up the status quo every now and then. Analyze everything, and nothing, at the same time, and draw your own conclusions on how to proceed. Keep moving forward with as much kindness, and humor, as you can muster, and you should be just fine. Deep stuff. Random and hilarious. Like life itself. Later.

Memory Intermission

July 23, 2013 at 12:37 pm (Books, Day to Day, Family, For Tom, Getting Old) (, , , , , , , , )

20130723_104201

As opposed to the “Daily Life Intermission” I was going to do. My mom just brought over this CD that my brother found at a garage sale somewhere. This was my favorite book as a young person for a very long time. And it was the first book that I ever spent my own money on. And it’s also the book I used to read to my brother when he was little. If you don’t know, it’s a book of seemingly funny, rhyming, short and long, poems. Easy to read and so lighthearted that you don’t even realize that you are getting some serious, touching, emotional, and real-life views, without being bogged down in somberness. I did not even know there was a CD. And I did not know that he remembered about all the time we spent going through this book. It was a lot. And a long time ago.  I will be listening to this, in my car, on the way to work, in about an hour or so. I hope it’s good. I’ve never heard the author’s voice or even heard anybody else read these poems out loud except my teacher in 4th grade who read it to me. Well, not just to me. The whole class, but it felt like me alone. So, anyway, even if the CD is complete crap, it will stay with me now. Thank you so much Tom! Even though you probably hate to admit it, or recognize the very small amount of mushy I am about to throw out right here, I guess you will always be my little brother. Love and hugs.

Happy Father’s Day!

Happy Father’s Day to all the daddies. Past, present, future. By blood or by life. If you are taking care of the kids every day, you are a daddy! Keep on truckin’. That’s for my dad. Old school. Gone but not forgotten. (Sorry little brother,  you weren’t born yet in these pics!)

img003

Look at that old time stroller! It’s like a shopping cart for babies. My brother, who just became a daddy for the first time, and the last of all us kids to have kids, is rockin’ it new school with all the hip gear. And a baby backpack. Show me the love:

WARNING: The picture below my be unsuitable for children. And adults. It contains a gesture that may be considered offensive. Please proceed with caution.

My brother is still not fully embracing the whole “baby thing”. Or is he? We’ve seen him pushing the baby, changing the baby, feeding the baby, carrying all the babies stuff in a snazzy backpack, (see above), so I don’t know. He’s a rock. He’s an island. But this is a man who knows how to protect the important things in life. Last picture. Hooch and the baby. I think his son is one finger away from looking exactly like him. Have a very, very, happy Father’s Day!

Updates!

One baby born! This little boy was actually born last week, but as you all know, I am lame. Hopefully any family people saw it on facebook. I mean, you can just go with this site for your local, state, national, news, but you will be getting very specific, and very late updates.  Specific to me and my life and the things I feel strongly about, and, more importantly, anything I actually have time to post about. Good thing it’s not my job. Anyway, this is my brother’s new baby. About a week old now with several names. John Thomas James. It’s a nice strong set of names. I just looked up the date and it was May 16th. Now all of my siblings have children in May. (My one sisters kid was actually born June 1, but I’m counting it because it’s close enough and I still have to send the card in May) I guess I know what everyone’s been doing in the fall. Labor Day Fun Times. Ah love. So he is pretty cute huh? And he’s already got that look in his eye that my brother has most of the time. Congrats!

And a special thank you to my brother for telling me the good news in a hilarious and awkward fashion. It made me laugh all the way to work. You know you want to know, and I hope it translates here as funny as it was when he did it. He calls me and of course I figure it has to be about the baby so I just say, “Hello? What’s going on?” And he says (very seriously and literally), “Uh, well, um, well, you know, uh, we, uh, um, the baby, you know, um, well, it’s here. The baby is born and you know, it’s, um, it’s born now…” That may not be word for word, since he was mixing those “ums” and “uhs” and “wells” up all over the place, but it’s pretty damn close. I said, “Geez Tom. Could you tell me any more awkwardly? Just say ‘we had the baby!’ It’s not like, Oh hey, you know that thing that’s been growing in April? Maybe you noticed that she’s been getting kind of fat lately? Well, we went to the hospital because she was complaining about some pain in her stomach, and well, turns out it was a baby! So they, uh, got it out of there and it’s here and we have one now that we get to keep and take home!” Man, I love my little brother!! Hopefully he won’t be mad that I shared in this public place! Love and all that stuff. Later.

Sorry Sister!

October 8, 2011 at 3:36 pm (For Amanda, Fruits, Homemade) (, , , )

Apple Pie! My first apple pie in many years. We will see. Juices are supposed to be bubbling and it’s done. That would be a crumby streusel type topping. It tastes good. I already tried it. Now hopefully the apples will be soft and sweet and the inside will not be runny!

Just have to dash out for some ice cream, milk, caramel, toilet paper, wine….well you don’t want my whole list. I’ll post later to let you know how it all turned out.

And for you Amanda…check the reply to your comment on the previous post. It explains it all in a witty way. XO. Dream sweet!

Gone but not forgotten

July 18, 2011 at 3:18 pm (Day to Day, For Amanda, Juneau, Wasting Study Time Posts) (, , , , , )

Although our fabulous dog is gone, he left lots and lots of himself behind! Even after power-washing the house and patio the fur only managed to collect in other places. At least its in the grassy areas. And the birds are picking it all up piece by piece. Plush nests for all the little ones.

We have a furry fence. Pretty funny. But clean now!

Last pic of a happy dog after a good brush. So relaxing:

Spring Break for the weary!

March 17, 2011 at 10:31 am (Day to Day, Exercise, Holiday, School News, Warrior Dash) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , )

Finally!! It has been a long–fast 9 weeks! I tried to post…wasn’t going to happen. After BOMBING my very first test back (literally. failed. less than passing.) I am back up and over the minimum required to graduate in May. And of course I am going for the A again. I got to. It’s close. It’s within reach! And since I seriously do not do ANYTHING else now…(that includes: exercise, cooking, laundry, cleaning, sleeping….) I should be able to manage it. Its a boost for the class and a boost for my grade point average. Its all about the resumé now!

Anyway I won’t go on and on about boring school stuff (even though I have gotten to do LOTS of skills and get experiences these last few weeks that no one really wants to hear about!) because I want to catch up on LIFE! And laundry!

My BF, the BEST!! in the land, made a valiant attempt over the weekend….cleaned and dried and folded AND put away! Thank you thank you thank you…and I love you….and I am truly sorry about what a sucky GF I have been…I promise it will get better!!! Please hang in there!! XO

But, now 4 days go by and wtf?? a pile of clothes again! What a rip! So in between posts and making a half dinner (from a box, but with some ingredients!) and driving my mother to the doctor, exercising, and the inevitable homework (tests when we get back and some other stuff) I will try and do this here housework! It may not happen all today! But I think I can fix it up by tomorrow afternoon! Then I can have a whole week to slack off!! Maintenance, people!! It’s all about maintaining!

So I need to update my Ipod. It’s not as crammed up with junk anymore so it works alot better now. After my epic meltdown last summer with the maximum capacity overload, I wiped it out and just put on the music I use for running or driving. Much smarter. 30,ooo songs is nice but it’s really not realistic for anything except maybe a radio station and even then, they only play what someone wants to hear. Over and over and over again! And I need some new music!

And I need to hit the road! With my feet. Me and my sissy are doing another crazy running adventure…for charity of course. But that won’t make it any easier. 6 miles and a cart following us, breathing down our backs, putting on the pressure, just waiting for us to fall below the minimum time to complete, and ready to scoop us up off the road and drive us to the finish line! HA! She says it won’t happen! I hope she is right! That ground hits hard though on my out of shape feet (and body!) I haven’t gained any weight—mostly because I don’t have time to eat! but I haven’t gained any muscle either or tone or shape….then there is the Warrior Dash! It’s that time again! So be prepared to hear ALL about that! I need Tony Horton to bring it! To my house and get me off my fat a**! P90WTF??? It only works if you actually do it!

Anyway…That’s it for now! I will go look for something good to post as a picture for the top. Something that is NOT snow. It’s gorgeous today in the midwest! Chicago is teasing us for spring!

Happy St. Pat’s Day to all who celebrate.

Please give a quick thought to the folks out there in Japan trying to keep it together for another day, and wish them the best before you have that drink!

And here’s a little shout out to my new, number one fan! Stevie! Hi baby! Love you! Now get back to school stuff please!!

Thanks for hanging with me for a bit! More later!
