Veterans Day
Another year to say thank you and to post my favorite picture of my dad.
To all who serve. Past, present, and future. Thank you.
Happy Father’s Day!
Happy Father’s Day to all the daddies. Past, present, future. By blood or by life. If you are taking care of the kids every day, you are a daddy! Keep on truckin’. That’s for my dad. Old school. Gone but not forgotten. (Sorry little brother, you weren’t born yet in these pics!)
Look at that old time stroller! It’s like a shopping cart for babies. My brother, who just became a daddy for the first time, and the last of all us kids to have kids, is rockin’ it new school with all the hip gear. And a baby backpack. Show me the love:
WARNING: The picture below my be unsuitable for children. And adults. It contains a gesture that may be considered offensive. Please proceed with caution.
My brother is still not fully embracing the whole “baby thing”. Or is he? We’ve seen him pushing the baby, changing the baby, feeding the baby, carrying all the babies stuff in a snazzy backpack, (see above), so I don’t know. He’s a rock. He’s an island. But this is a man who knows how to protect the important things in life. Last picture. Hooch and the baby. I think his son is one finger away from looking exactly like him. Have a very, very, happy Father’s Day!
I Can Never Use This Picture Enough! Happy Memorial Day!
Thank you to all currently serving and all those who have in the past! And any new future soldiers we have waiting to go or going through right now!! You make it possible for me to type any damn thing I want on a daily basis. I must go to work, but if you are lucky enough to be off, enjoy the day, and remember for a quick minute why you got to sleep late today! And in case you were wondering, that’s my dad up top and the BF’s dad below. Later.
Happy Veterans Day! Thank You!
Nothing silly, just a quick thanks to all who serve or have served. I’m also using my favorite pic of all time. That’s my dad. It’s definitely been here before, but I love it so much I use it whenever I can. Remember to take just a quick moment to thank a vet today. You wouldn’t be reading this without them!
Happy Father’s Day!
To all the Dads out there doing it every single day without fail, whether they want to or not. And these days, alot of those dads aren’t even doing it for their own biological children. I had one of the good dads, one of the good step-dads, AND I am blessed to have one of the new dads for my kids. (Mine really lucked out in the “daddy” department. They have the good ones too.)
So if you have a dad to go see today and you actually LIKE to hang out with him, consider yourself lucky and have a drink for me! (If that’s your thing—and it has to be right? Family time is HARD!!) For all the rest of us, we can still drink too! I mean, come on, it’s almost Sunday afternoon in June! Alcohol never cares why you’re drinking it, just that you are!
Cheers!
Dodge Challenger 2 / The Older
Dodge Challenger, 1974. Maroon with white interior. My parents car, as promised.
I’m going to try and keep the words to a minimum tonight. I was up late last night and will be up late tomorrow, so maybe I can get to bed before midnight here in the Midwest.
I scanned in the pics and all I can say is modern technology rocks. These pictures have been buried for years and now I can look at them whenever and wherever I want on any computer-like device. I can even make a million copies, better than the original, and have them forever.
One dreary little side note: The picture of my dad with us, is one of very few that I have at all, so it’s really nice to have this capability.
OK that’s it. Above and below. My mom and my dad, with us and the car. It’s in the background so you have to look. And it’s better in my mom’s picture because my big-head sister isn’t blocking the view. Also, please excuse our very “Seventies” look, it was the SEVENTIES!!
