This was actually the end of October. Sunny. Windy. Not warm. The usual.

Action shots. From various games. Mine is 71. White jersey, you can’t really see the number though. On the right, doing what the 70’s do.

Huddling. I’m not sure how he was looking this way, but it’s a nice pic.

Green jersey here, running in, tackling or something. I took a lot of pictures but only a few of them are clear enough or action enough to be looked at. Thank goodness for digital cameras. You can take 500, for 2 good ones. Then delete them all and start over. Hi-tech.

And that’s everything in my files this year for football, I think. If I find more somewhere, I’ll just post them. We are going into the city tonight for my daughter’s birthday so I prob won’t be able to get more of this exciting world news in; But I have to do some work tomorrow, and that means I’ll already be on the computer, and…I like to waste A LOT of time while pretending to do that work, so….Super Sunday! Football! Nurse work! Blog posts from the middle of nowhere! About nothing! Absolutely nothing! Stay tuned! Later!

Bug Close Ups. A New Low.

Why? My computer will not let me pull up and crop my bench pictures. It is taking way too long to get the images. I have to work today. This is my long week and I am impatient. These two pics were all ready to go. And they are in the folder that needs to be used. I am desperate to post something every day if possible. I guess this is desperate. Anyway here is some phone camera action for you to enjoy on WOW Wednesday. More like, Wait. What? Wah. Wah. Wah. Wednesday. I took the one above with the GS4. Stevie took the one below with her IP4. Yep. That’s it. Have a great day!

Full photo cred to Stevie. This is one quick post. Mostly for my cousins. They tell me that I never take enough pictures of flowers. Or the sky. Or the clouds. Or the moon. Guess what? I have all those and more! Let me just go to work today and I will post more on Sunday and Monday. Later!

I wanted the sunset. I got 50 pictures of the same 2 girls standing in front of the sunset. Or kneeling in a field. Or standing or bending or posing in some way. I totally want to do one of those multiple-picture-boxes-in-one type things, so you can see that I am not exaggerating. But according to Stevie, I don’t have the app or the time to get this together in the next 20 minutes. Bummer. I will work on that. I could probably save a lot of time posting all the pictures at one time in one big picture. And FYI, that’s the underwater pictures I have. A collage type shot. Still coming. Not forgotten. Then you’ll see what I mean. Anyway, these two are my favorites, one above, one below.

And then I threw in the only, single, un-peopled picture of the sunset taken.

And after talking to some of my cousins at the party, they requested that I post MORE flower pictures. I guess they really love them. So I will get on that for you guys! There is an entire summer of blooming beauties to be found! Thanks for all the feedback and creative input! I have to get in the shower and get out of here. But here is a shot of the flowers in front of my house to keep you busy with until I get back. Love you guys. XO. Later.

And Now For The Really Important Postings! All About Stevie!

June 17, 2013 at 12:17 pm (Day to Day, Family, For Stevie, Graduation, Thank You) (, , , , , , , , )

20130615_183550

The party on Saturday was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who came out (and reads this) and represented for the family. The party was at her dad’s house, which is way out South in the cornfields of Illinois. As is illustrated by the graduation girl and the 25 pictures she took of herself in said cornfields. It was a hike for some, so the extra effort was appreciated. The rain held off out there it seems, or it was just like, forget it, we ARE not going that far down 57, because it was torrential as we were driving north at 11:30 that night. It stopped once we got near home, and it’s all good for the sod. The sod. The sod. All we can concentrate on is that grass and keeping it alive everyday. But I digress. Here is the cake:

And here’s the girl. She doesn’t like this picture, but it is the only one I have of her actually doing a party thing. So I will bury it at the bottom of this cake post. The rest of the pics are all of her in the corn and against the sunset with her cousin. I will give those the next headline post (actually above this one because that’s how they fall unless I backward time them and I’m just not) so she can look at herself if she wants to for the rest of the day when I go to work.

Happy Father’s Day!

June 16, 2013 at 1:28 pm (Babies, Day to Day, Family, For Jeff the BF, For Tom, Holiday, My Dad, My Mom) (, , , , , , , , , , )

Happy Father’s Day to all the daddies. Past, present, future. By blood or by life. If you are taking care of the kids every day, you are a daddy! Keep on truckin’. That’s for my dad. Old school. Gone but not forgotten. (Sorry little brother,  you weren’t born yet in these pics!)

img003

Look at that old time stroller! It’s like a shopping cart for babies. My brother, who just became a daddy for the first time, and the last of all us kids to have kids, is rockin’ it new school with all the hip gear. And a baby backpack. Show me the love:

WARNING: The picture below my be unsuitable for children. And adults. It contains a gesture that may be considered offensive. Please proceed with caution.

My brother is still not fully embracing the whole “baby thing”. Or is he? We’ve seen him pushing the baby, changing the baby, feeding the baby, carrying all the babies stuff in a snazzy backpack, (see above), so I don’t know. He’s a rock. He’s an island. But this is a man who knows how to protect the important things in life. Last picture. Hooch and the baby. I think his son is one finger away from looking exactly like him. Have a very, very, happy Father’s Day!

MY Transition From Vibrant Youth To Creeping Old Age, Phase Two, Complete!

May 31, 2013 at 12:51 pm (Day to Day, Family, For Stevie, Graduation, School News, Summer Break) (, , , , , , , , )

IMAG0395

Congratulations Stevie! I’m sorry this picture is blurry. It was the best I could get with sub-par equipment. I can’t wait for my new phone with super zoom! At any rate, you did it! 8th grade graduation! Done. Your speech was excellent and loud and short and funny and sweet and short! All the things that make for a great speaker! I will put it here for eternity as soon as I can figure out how. “File too big to attach” keeps stopping me from moving it where I want it. But I have to be smarter than the technology. I’ll work and figure it out and come back later. It should be going to facebook, although it seems to be taking forever, and you can get it there for now! I love you so much and am so proud.

But, as the title suggests, these milestones for the kids, just age the mom. Poops! I am getting old. TWO high schoolers. At least that’s it for me. No more babies and no more kids working their way through the school system. College is going to be the next big thing, so I guess I better get a move on and get to work. I sense a lot of money needs to be earned in the next few years. Here’s a pic of these gorgeous kids of mine. Fully vested in this thing called life. Work now and off for the weekend. Have a good day and stay out of the rain. Later.

My Last Few Hours With An 8th Grader!

May 30, 2013 at 6:17 pm (Day to Day, Family, For Stevie, Graduation, School News, Weather) (, , , , , , , , , )

IMG956197

We are only a few short hours away from 8th grade graduation! After the girl got home from school/graduation rehearsal, we went back to the school, to get the extra ticket we needed, but that didn’t get included in the packet she brought home. Then we drove around in the pouring rain—torrential, tornadic, blinding downfall—that I basically asked for with my previous post—(so far all tree parts have remained on the tree) and got Chinese Food and lottery tickets. I spent all my cash on those stupid things. But look! Look how colorful they are! All that money just waiting to be won under those little silver scratch offs. Then we came home and ate and watched Sex and The City 2 until my son called for a ride home from b-ball practice. Then we dropped off the tickets for the dad and got gas. Then it rained more, the sun came out, and a rainbow appeared. Really.

I have the picture proof. But it will have to wait. I have exactly 16 minutes on the stove timer to get my ass up and dressed and out of this house with the girl and family. Did I mention we have a graduation to go to? Suspense and excitement ahead. The girl is giving a speech and everything! So proud. So happy. So old. Two in high school. Almost. Later.

Tomorrow Weed For Women Behind. What the??

May 16, 2013 at 3:02 am (Day to Day, Mystery Posts, Unusual, Wasting Time In General, Weird Shit Around House) (, , , , , , , , , )

IMAG0344

What could this mean?? This could sort of be categorized under “Weird Shit You Find Around The House”, but it’s also a mystery that must be trying to tell me something. These two things were sitting on the table in the living room, together, all by themselves. Obviously left for me (?) or as a reminder to my daughter for something she wants to remember in the morning (?) maybe (?). I really don’t know. But, I really don’t think it was my son. It’s not his writing. And the words, even though they seem to make no logical sense, or form a complete, coherent thought, are all spelled correctly.

It looks like a flower. Boutonniere, actually, (I super-hesitated to type that word because I can’t spell it–but once again, the computer is smarter than me! Thank you Spell Check!),  that she may have gotten from the NJHS induction ceremony she went to tonight, to bring in the new 8th graders, to replace the graduating ones–of which she is one–in fact, she is the president of the NJHS in her school–not to brag or anything…and a 3×5 note card that she wrote those five specific words on, in green marker, no less. An act of convenience? Just a scrap that she took out to lay the flower on with no meaning to the words written upon it? And if that’s true, someone still wrote the words at some time and they must have meant something. What this really means is I need a day job so I don’t stay up half the night over-thinking some garbage left on a table in a quiet house at midnight.

Anyway…I got home and it was the only thing sitting on the table with it’s cryptic words on a plain old postcard. Tomorrow weed for women behind. I’ve read it over and over thinking that I must be missing something; like a reference to something; or a word that I’m reading wrong. Is it a slogan? Is it a chore? Something to do? Or maybe my brain is just not processing language correctly because I can’t seem to make the connection between these five words.

Alas, I must sleep with the unknown for tonight. As must you. I want to wake her up and ask, but that never works. My kids sleep so deep that if you do try to wake them up, they just get really confused and start talking out loud to whoever, and about whatever,  they were dreaming of. Sometimes they get kind of angry and act all upset that they were even woken up. Pshh. Kids right? Plus that would probably be a really bad “mom” move. Especially since it’s already 2:30 AM, and I should be asleep myself. I should never be allowed to complain about being tired when I should have put myself to bed an hour ago instead of posting this ridiculousness in the middle of the night. At least we can be sure it’s not me, with a “language” issue, because I sure managed to waste alot of words taking about how I can’t understand words. Let me end this now before I write anymore of those words. Later.
