Following The Pumpkin Truck

On my way to work. On the expressway. I’ll admit, that while I was fumbling around trying to get the picture, and driving, that it would not be good if that cardboard box thing holding all those pumpkins together just broke. Pumpkins everywhere! I don’t see how I would even avoid them really. They would just tumble out and over the side and onto the road. I’ve never hit a pumpkin or tried to run one over, but I bet that without a truck I would not have much success of keeping my vehicle intact. But you know, I still had to get the picture because I am an idiot. Happy October!

Happy New Year To Me!

44 years old today. My final birthday in which I will actually be getting older. I like the number 44 so that’s what I will be staying at.  This is a super fast post before I go to work in half an hour. It’s my holiday to work. Boo. At least it’s double time. Let’s all hope for a fast shift and a fun day if you aren’t working! Have a drink for me. Please! These are my presents so far. Lighthouse bird feeder from the BF. LOVE IT!!  Just imagine all those bird shots I will be getting now. Amanda, I am talking to you. Boring, my ass!

From my mom. These are fall decorations for my house. And I got cash. The pumpkins are in the living room now, but they will be relocated to the bathroom as soon as I get new towels and crap. Thank you mommy!!

From my sissy Noelle. Lottery tickets and a magnet. That magnet is already on my fridge. I hope I win money! Thank you! Ok Amanda and Tom, I am waiting…

I also received many internet birthday wishes and coupons from places I shop at and places I don’t. I plan on listing them all later, because some of them are pretty funny. I hope they age adjust the coupons to places I will need as I get older. That would be awesome. Although I am NOT looking forward to my first birthday wish from the “Depends” company. I really really “gotta go” hahahahahaha. Have a great day! With any luck I can spend the last 30 minutes of my birthday back at home tonight! XO to all! Lisa.

Neverending Halloween will be ending shortly.

November 5, 2011 at 1:18 pm (Day to Day, Holiday, Shameless Self Promotion, Thank You) (, , )

Don’t be fooled by those fake pumpkins. But they look so real! This is the last of the pictures I took in the same area as the bench. So I guess I can declare Halloween and the rest of the Holy Days over for another year.

Also, it would seem I have picked up a few more fans in the last few days. It’s a peculiar medium, and a strange way to communicate with the outside world. It’s usually just me, alone, typing whatever pops into my head, and then putting it out there, never really knowing where it will land. Sometimes you get lucky, like these last few days,  and I know some one is connecting with something I’ve written, but usually it just floats. That’s ok too because I write it for me anyway. I know it can’t possibly be just my family generating so many “hits”, there aren’t that many of us. So to everyone out there that keeps checking in, whether you comment, or like me, or just read and move on…

THANK YOU!!!

I should go do something weekend-like now. It’s pretty nice out for November in the Midwest. And my jaw is only hurting a little bit now. Teaser. Updates coming later! Everyone to the outdoors!

Blog Cred

November 4, 2011 at 3:39 pm (Day to Day, Holiday, Shameless Self Promotion, Updates) (, , , , , )

Isn’t that a terrible word combination?? It sounds like a disease or a fancy cheese. Anyway, I can thank my sissy for helping me construct postings with more depth and attention to detail. She was confused by some of the things that are written and why, and it did occur to me that my last post could seem cryptic and confusing. If you go back and read, at least the last four days, Oct. 31 to the present, AND read the comments, you will be all caught up and in the know. While you are there, in the comment section, click that “like” button too, please!! It’s right there under my words—THAT’S what gives me all the “blog cred”–like street cred, but in the blogging world–yea yea I know, I never used to care either. And I feel ya’ if you don’t want to read posts AND comments too. I know I never do. Especially if there are like 50 of them. Luckily for you, there’s usually only 1 or 2, and they are in really short sentences. My reply’s are usually what take the longest to read. They are like mini-posts within the big posts. I do love to write! At any rate….Just do it!

I couldn’t think of what other picture to use for this, so I just put up pumpkins. Kid designed and cut. It’s awesome because I literally, do not have to do anything anymore by way of participation in this Halloween process. Nothing! They can carry and move them, draw them, cut them, gut them, and design and finish them. They can even use fire to light them. They said I could post their costume pic too, so that’s below.

As you can see, they look less than thrilled at having to stand there. Lately if they get that close it’s because they want to punch each other. I guilted them though with the whole, “it’s probably the last Halloween costume picture I’ll ever get with you two” spiel. It worked. Sort of. If you look close at the bottom left corner you can see my finger in the view. I had to take these pictures quick because they refused to pose and this is the best, and only, pic I got with both of them in frame. Teenagers are fun!

I have to go comment some more on my newest comments. And again, thank you all for reading!! I found money on the street today so I am about to update that little category. Hold on to your Friday, cause we are on a roll!

Holy Cannoli! I am wasting alot of time today!

October 28, 2009 at 3:29 pm (Day to Day, News, Pictures, Random Images, School News) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

School is kicking my internet-loving, website-posting, useless-information-transportation, booty! Since I have already wasted the better part of a day doing “study avoiding” activities, a few more hours probably won’t matter.

If you follow my facebook…and of course you do…as I have no illusions that you would have found this randomly…you must be my friend and therefore linked to this site…you know that I have been off the radar for awhile but I completed another skill check, and I was, seriously, so happy that I did well I had to put up a funny little comment. It was for oral medication administration…which sounds fun huh? And I will not repeat myself with the lewd/ambiguous/slightly naughty status thingy. Trust that it was pretty clever. Ha.

It is though. Fun, that is.  And I probably shouldn’t have jumped to post that info because I have to do the harder, and probably more important, injection skill next week. I could be crying in about 6 days…we’ll see…

Anyhoo, here’s some stuff. With pictures.

This is a truck that I keep seeing on my way to school. I finally got a pretty decent picture. I am not normally a huge fan of green for a vehicle, but this bright green with two-tone looks really cool. It's a retired guy driving, but that shouldn't matter, right?

This is a very, delicious roast beef that the BF made for us during the weekend of Mason's extreme fever flu blowout.

And, apparently, a very expensive roast also. I was told I didn’t want to know. How much is too much? What is a good price for meat? I am sorry to say, as a woman, a lousy housekeeper and definitely not a Betty Crocker, I really don’t know the price of good meat, or any meat for that matter. I stink at the household type stuff. I avoid buying anything related to cleaning and cooking if I can help it, and get really irritated when I am forced to.

Anyhow. If you care, and you have read this far…let me know! Drop a line. E-mail. Post. Comment. Whatever. I love hearing from the people that actually read this thing! You are all crazy and obviously easily entertained, like myself, and therefore you must be one of my peeps.

See? All the really important issues are here. Here’s another:

0912091721

Stevie got a cut and perm. Looked beautiful for about a week...then all the curl fell out. Poor girl. Fine hair. It's a nice wave now though.

And of course…pumpkins!:

1028091424

Try to guess who's is who's. Here's a hint...the round one weighs, like 30 pounds, and was one of the biggest you could buy. Hmmm? Who would have picked that one? I suppose this would look more dramatic lit up...

1028091448-1

Um...nope. Probably need to wait until dark.

Well, I think that is definitely enough for now. I have an updated poker post AND street money. These are the really exciting things that I didn’t want to just add onto at the end of a long, possibly unread posting. Pictures are nice, but I’m no fool. People have short attention spans.

I’m not kidding about the poker and money thing. I got a GREAT ultimate score and I found a BIG bill of money (and alot of change over the last month).

It all adds up to edge-of-your-seat excitement. I was going to write seat-of-your-pants…either way, your pants will be involved somewhere in this scenario. And don’t forget…night is coming! That means pumpkins lit up in the dark! So much, for so little.

And we have more of the usual: camera pics, Mason coolpix, words, quotes, mumbo-jumbo, and flowers.

End post.

I’m just going to stop typing now.
