I gotta say…

November 30, 2010 at 8:23 pm (Day to Day, Exercise, News, Pocket Poker, School News) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

I don’t know who the heck is still looking at this every day, but, thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my 15-week-jammed-up-school-crazy-going-no-time-to-post-anything heart! Someone is keeping me alive and on the charts and I thank you.

I literally have one more clinical and one more week of class to go this semester. One care plan. One evaluation sheet w/ goals. One Hesi test. One Lab Final and one final Final. Now that I have typed it…it seems like alot. But trust. It is not. Actually it is but that’s just because I have to study everything, all over again, and then answer even MORE questions. But then I’m done. Until January. One post in 15 weeks…not bad.

Here’s a quick update: School. Football. School. Football. I take the kids to bowling. I go to clinicals. I don’t play any games anymore on facebook, but I do check the site. I stay up way too late. And not for good stuff. I rebooted my Ipod but I am not in love with it anymore. I lost all my playlists and a few hundred songs when I re-loaded the back up discs. I haven’t exercised in weeks. Unless you count the few pushups I do every few days to make sure that I still can. Which I do. But I still fit in my small pants so I don’t care too much about the extra flab hanging over the top for now. I can hit the gym in about a week. School is busy but fun this time. Stressful but in a completely different way from last semester. And my license is calling. I can almost hear it now. I haven’t really been drinking either. Not even enough time for that. Or movies. Or pleasure books. Or mags. I have alot of gossip news to catch up on. My mags are from August…I know I should just throw them away…I’ll decide at Christmas about that. Anyway, I am having a drink now and it is good.

The two things for fun that I have still been doing is collecting change off the street (and keeping it in a cup) and playing my pocket poker game (the quest for the royal flush). Don’t I sound like FUN??  I will post the amount for the last few months in a few days maybe.

AND….wait for it……the quest is over!!

I GOT THE ROYAL FLUSH!!

Oh yeah! No kidding. I think it was clubs. I got it awhile ago but saved the pic for just this moment. I am a wild woman! Do not mess with me and my mad fake poker points skillz! The back of the game says I get 2500 points for the royal flush but I got 5000! What?? I know! It was an exciting day! And just when I did not think it could ever happen again….IT DID!!

TWO Royal Flushes! This was a hearts set. Another 5000. Oh yeah…I’m going for the 10,000. I am unstoppable.

I need to go eat dinner and study something. Thanks for hanging again with me thru the weeks of drought! I really do appreciate your time! I’ll have more later! Pictures are below.

The first one. And that was pretty exciting.

Ugh! Blurry! But you can see it! Another 5000.

That was the high score but I am going for more points. I think I am over 7100 now. Yes I know. Sad life. That’s what the vodka is for. See ya!

Street Money Update! Super Deluxe All-in-One Edition!

September 9, 2009 at 2:14 pm (Street Money) (, , , , , , , , , )

We found money. I have managed to keep it in neat rows for posting so I wouldn’t get confused about how much and what day and where. But, it has been, like a week, and even though I am pretty anal, I’m just not that good at keeping track of the coins when I had more important career-building school studies to worry about. So here it is, all in one big clump:

Six cents. Somewhere. I found it, but the memory is gone. Maybe walking the kids to school…

Four cents. Most likely found on the way to school based on the ratty nature of the coins.

Six cents. Mason found, riding his bike around at the end of our block.

Eleven cents. Somewhere over the weekend, I think. Most likely in a parking lot.

Twenty-two cents! At the laundromat! Washing the bed comforter. Exciting weekends. I wonder what I would do on Saturday and Sunday if I was rich?? What would I do on any of the week days?? Doesn’t matter.

The kids went camping all Labor Day weekend and Stevie said she found a quarter! But, she spent it on candy. It doesn’t count if it doesn’t come home.

Grand total for this post: 49¢ Living Large!

Check here for the year.

Street Money Update! With Canadian Money! Finally!

August 21, 2009 at 7:26 pm (Street Money) (, , , , , , , , )

Oh yeah! We got it. We are representing from across the globe. Sort of. All on the way to school! Obviously no one scours the streets for loose change along the walking route.

One penny in the mini-golf parking lot (see posts after this) and all the rest in the streets of our town.

We found 6 mangy pennies, one chewed up dime, one perfect quarter and, here comes that international flavor, one Canadian penny!!

Finally we can add the “Canadian” total to our totals!

So if that’s not confusing enough, the total total is: One cent, Canadian. Forty-two cents, American.

The 42 gets added to the year total and the one cent gets its own listing! Click it here for the update.

Thursday. Friday. Weekend. Monday. And all the other days after that…

August 21, 2009 at 6:26 pm (Day to Day, Pictures, School News) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

Wednesday post had to be at one am, because the real world has spun back into motion.

I’ve been on hold for the last year. Preparing, but not actually doing. And here it is.

Thursday. First day of school for kids. Last day of summer for mom. It was a half day, decent weather except for the morning when it rained at the bus stop. Just enough to soak my son for his first time back on the bus since 2nd grade. Yes, I went to the bus stop with him (Sister came too!) and no, we weren’t the only ones. Seems all the moms come out for the first (and second) day of school. My son didn’t care. He even gave me a kiss goodbye. In front of other people. I feel very fortunate (I truly do) to have such a nice boy. An hour later, we were out again. Stevie and I, walking her to school. She is fifth grade now. Top of the school chain! It’s a quiet walk this year. All the fifth graders from last year are gone now. On the bus. And that is what made up most of the kids on the street. One more year and she’ll join her brother at the Jr. High.

Profitable though, to take them out. Found a lot of loose change and some odd items for the next posts; Street Money and Odd Items.

After school we went to play mini-golf. The very last afternoon of summer and all its ease. Then we came home and waited for morning. Ha. Not really. The kids played outside until dinner and the BF’s friend came back (sunshine and blue skies) and fixed the roof pipe. Ten minutes. Done. It’s nice when there isn’t a typhoon trying to sweep you off the roof to your death! And don’t worry. There’s a picture. Observe:

Then, Friday. Full day. Boy on the bus. Girl walking. More change. Another odd item. This time the rain waited to pour down on Mason when he got off the bus walking home. I managed to get all the laundry done, pay the bills, organize my school papers and start the prep work. The nursing starts immediately. You don’t ease into the pool, you jump straight in.  (Not with the people yet, just in the water. No worries.) Anyway, it’s good. I have some reading and vocab and, oh no, here come the kids. Mom on hold. Kids take the front. Papers to sign, homework (they jump in too) and a snack. And back to me. But I want to type. So here it is. I have a few days of catching up to do.

I’ll just end it here and post more pictures! I can’t concentrate on a good conclusion because Stevie turned on Hannah Montana and I swear to God and all things holy or hellish, that damn show makes me laugh out loud and sucks me in faster than a low flying goose in an airplane engine. To borrow a phrase from a hillbilly soliloquy. Those Cyrus folk can sure turn a phrase. Hardy har har.

Street Money Update!

August 15, 2009 at 7:02 pm (Street Money) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

My favorite sunglasses that I have been wearing to death for the last year or so, maybe two, broke unrepairably the other day taking my mom to the cataract doctor. She’s fine, the glasses had to be buried.

Went to the mall to get a new pair from my favorite cheap place, Shades of Summer Too (the first shop is ok but the ones I like are in number “too”.) These are not stores. They’re kiosks in the middle of the mall halls. Not to be confused with Sunglass Hut. I tried to find a link online, but couldn’t. I did research for real! The places are small and you can get one pair for $15 or two for $25 (It used to be 10 and 20, but you know, the economy, blah, blah, blah.)

Anyway, the point here is that I brought the old ones, matched up the new ones, which weren’t exact, but that I like better actually, and found some loose change in the process. To finally get around to the main point.

One cent, completely fair, just laying on the floor.

Two more cents, that I saw a man drop, because it fell out of his pockets, reaching in to get bigger change, to buy candy from one of those independent-standing-turnstile-type-candy machines that you would see outside of a K-Mart, for his small child. I tried to get the money for him and give it back, but he waved me off. I left it, very universally and fairly, laying where it landed. We had to go right past it to get out of the mall so I said (to the BF and myself) that if it was still there, THEN I would pick it up. It was. And I did.

Then I found two more cents at the 7-11. One in the parking lot and one in the store. The pennies to my fortune. I was there buying lottery tickets. Mega Millions is like, or was, like, 146 million. $146,000,000. Since I haven’t actually checked the numbers today, I suppose I could be filthy, stinking, rich right now and not even know it. Wouldn’t my face be red talking about 5¢, when I have all that money. But I guess you would never know. What would I do? Just never post again? Post about all the things I am doing from everywhere? Or just leave a nice, simple, “Won the Lottery! Have a nice life!” That might work. But, I have to think to myself, isn’t waking up every day and living my life with good health, happiness, my kids and the BF and my family, well, golly, isn’t that just like winning the lottery on a daily basis?? I will stop now.

And fyi, I didn’t win from the other day either. In case I posted, and in case you care. The internet world is still stuck with me.

This is the total for the year in case you forgot why you were looking at this. Toodles.
