Hot Breaking News From the Suburbs!! Rita Wears Her First Summery Outfit In Years!! Ankles EXPOSED!!

July 30, 2009 at 6:25 pm (Day to Day, My Mom, Pictures) (, , , , , , , , , , , , )

We have photo’s of this magnanimous event! I took the pictures! With my camera! She let me!

It’s true. It’s all true. Rita NEVER wears anything that goes above her elbows or the tops of her shoes. EVER. Heck, she never even wears OPEN toe shoes.

But today, for whatever reason, she showed up, at my house, with a light blouse and jeans on, that were rolled to mid-calf! And cute, little Sketcher shoes with multi-colored bands. They had a closed toe, but they were definitely summery! I am so proud of my mom!

If I can be serious for a minute, this is the first time, as an adult, I think I can remember her exposing her ankles in such a  fashion. And, I might add, she looks pretty good! (The skin on her ankles is probably all freaked out though wondering what the hell happened and who dares to parade them around in the daylight!?!)

Enough of my talk talk. This is for my mom. Here’s the shots:

Mother of the Year

May 12, 2009 at 2:59 pm (Day to Day) (, , , , , , , , , , , )

Well, I have to hurry. My son will be home in a few minutes and he has to go and cut the BF’s Mom’s grass…?? Anyway, since he has been working so hard cutting three lawns weekly and keeping up with school and basketball, and only complaining very minimally, I thought I would help him out today and cut our back grass.

Yes, very helpful. As I was cutting our grass, like I used to do all the time, I seem to have broken the automatic drive on the mower. That’s the part that spins the front wheels to make cutting a little easier. Moves the machine forward for you, and you just keep it straight.

Well, that part doesn’t work anymore, and I couldn’t fix it.

As a bonus, though, I got quite a workout, since that mower is extremely heavy and hard to push around our hilly lawn. Yay me.

And now my son will have a chance to work extra hard today because of me. I don’t know, maybe he can fix it. Maybe the BF can later.

At any rate, it doesn’t matter for the present moment because it don’t work NOW!

So, I thought I’d just post another running list while I wait for the wrath of my 11-year old dynamo.

I should have just went running for exercise like I planned and left the yard work to the boy. This is the Run Wild specific list. It’s long because I combined Wild and Crazy and the Jungle into one list. Wasn’t sure how many songs there would be. Turns out, ALOT.

Here it is: Running Wild & Crazy (Possibly in the Jungle)

Dodge Challenger 2 / The Older

May 4, 2009 at 10:28 pm (Dodge Challenger) (, , , , , , , , , , )

Dodge Challenger, 1974. Maroon with white interior. My parents car, as promised.

I’m going to try and keep the words to a minimum tonight. I was up late last night and will be up late tomorrow, so maybe I can get to bed before midnight here in the Midwest.

I scanned in the pics and all I can say is modern technology rocks. These pictures have been buried for years and now I can look at them whenever and wherever I want on any computer-like device. I can even make a million copies, better than the original, and have them forever.

One dreary little side note: The picture of my dad with us, is one of very few that I have at all, so it’s really nice to have this capability.

OK that’s it. Above and below. My mom and my dad, with us and the car. It’s in the background so you have to look. And it’s better in my mom’s picture because my big-head sister isn’t blocking the view. Also, please excuse our very “Seventies”  look,  it was the SEVENTIES!!
