Street Money Update! This one is actually exciting!

July 2, 2009 at 8:37 pm (Street Money) (, , , , , , , )

For me, anyhow.

It has been WAY too many days now since I found any money at all, but it was good when it was happening.

I found the basics, penny here, penny there. School, the train, in a parking lot…total of 5¢. Not bad.

And then, much to my kids disappointment because I saw it first, a whole DOLLAR!

Yes, that’s right. One green dollar bill. Laying in the grass at the SuperTarget.

So, for this week, we’ll lump it together for the end of June, we found $1.05!!

Please visit HERE for the yearly total. Happy cashing!

Street Money Update!

June 13, 2009 at 12:36 pm (Street Money) (, , , , , , , , )

Four more pennies have found their way into my bee box.

Hmmm…that sounds….weird.

In our travels yesterday we collectively found 4 cents all around the town. The box I hold the money in has pictures of bees on it.

What were you thinking?

Take a look at the bee bank box and check here for the latest update for 2009!

Street Money Update!

All that walking around yesterday and we came up with 11¢!

Not complaining…but you can really tell the economy based on how much change people will drop, and then actually pick back up.

Cheap times!

Here’s the update spot.

Street Money Update!

Getting spoiled…

Every day of class or school time, so far, has provided me: 1. a kicking education!, and 2. loose change! Some days more, than others. Today is an “other”, but I’ll take it. I still have places to go later with the kids so there’s hope their young eyes will spot more!

For now: One cent.

Found a small, beat-up dime on the street while riding his bike!

Street Money Update! Euro Version!

June 1, 2009 at 10:01 pm (Street Money) (, , , , , , , , , , , )

We have a new exciting feature to add to our Street Money Update! Euro Vision!

The kids and I are just buying crap at the CVS today and there they were: Penny, penny, penny, penny, penny, and penny!

Upon closer exam, one of these so-called “pennies” was actually a 2¢ Euro! Surprise, surprise. Really. We don’t have the kind of CVS that lends itself to Euro’s just getting dropped all over the ground. Canadian money maybe but not the fancy European kind…we ain’t that cosmopolitan.

Anyhoo, it’s June 1 and I can’t really count it in the regular tally, so I just added the Euro category. Right next to the American.

I’m actually really surprised we haven’t found one Canadian coin all year…we usually do by now.

Come on Canada! Step it up! Get down here and drop some coins in my neighborhood! We’re counting on you!

Let’s see how International we can get by the end of the year! A challenge!

Come on World! Get over to Illinois! We need your loose change!

Check here for the totals!
